International Cat Care and the International Society of Feline Medicine
International Cat Care is a not-for-profit (charitable) organisation that has been striving to improve the health and welfare of domestic cats worldwide since 1958. As cats become more popular as pets, the work of International Cat Care is more important than ever.
Vision: A world in which each cat’s life experience will be as good as it can be. This will be because people will better understand cats’ individual needs and perspective, and will feel confident to act in the best interests of each cat and its welfare.
Mission: To enable people to understand cats’ individual needs and perspective better, so that they can act in the best interests of each cat and its welfare.
International Cat Care works with owners, and all who care for cats (both owned and unowned) to improve cat welfare and the understanding of cats. The International Society of Feline Medicine (ISFM) is the veterinary division of International Cat Care. It is a veterinary practitioner-orientated organisation, aimed at providing resources and information to enhance and improve the veterinary care of cats.
With our extensive knowledge of cats, and our long experience of working with cat owners, cat carers and the veterinary profession, we believe that now is a perfect opportunity to encourage both owners and veterinarians to work together proactively to manage the health of our feline friends.
